Ash Wednesday Service

Each time we celebrate baptism we remember Jesus’ death and resurrection as we go down into and come back out of the water. In a similar way, on Ash Wednesday, we remember that we die to our self (lay down our want for the things of this world) so that we can be raised to new life in Jesus. We are all humans who have sinned against God, but even so the love of God is so great that he made a way for us to be with him, forever.

Join us on Wednesday, February 18th at 6 pm as we gather to worship, remember the promises of Jesus, confess our sins before God and one another, and receive a cross on our forehead (or back of the hand) in ashes. This service marks the start of our 46-day countdown to Easter, and the beginning of our observation of the season of Lent.
